It Ends With Us Movie review: Blake Lively Shines in Colleen Hoover’s Intense Adaptation of a Hellish Love Story
It Ends With Us seems to be a film aimed primarily at a female audience, as the story mixes romance, the side of life, and dark elements like domestic abuse, but it also gives it a creepy, edgy edge, which, at least in my opinion, feels a bit creepy. However, this seems like a winning strategy since the film is expected to open this opening weekend, but as a film and as a story, It Ends With Us doesn’t have the punch in the end; either execution it will need stands on its own as a solid film.
One of the first things you notice about the film is the storytelling style. The story of a survivor of domestic abuse already tells you that you need to stay on top of emotions, and while it didn’t hit me at all, it sure does for some people, especially women who have been abused by sadly in these circumstances, it will throb and he hard. Therefore, there is no way to avoid the fact that this story will be powerful and resonate with at least one segment of the audience.
